Justin and I went to a newlyweds/engaged couples Sunday School class on Sunday and the topic was a greedy heart vs a generous heart. There was a couple we met there, Joe and Lindsey, and Lindsey is 10 weeks pregnant. When it came time for prayer requests, Joe raised his hand and said this: "Just pray that Lindsey can find a job before she starts showing. Pray that we can scrape enough money for a car; I ride my bike to work and we walk to other places we need to go. Also, pray that we can find a cheap apartment; right now, we're living at the Travelodge" Immediately, I thought of our spare room and felt a tug on my heart. After the prayer, Justin looked at me and said that we have a room open. And I had been thinking the exact same thing. We talked about it for all of six minutes and decided it was something we felt right about. Inviting them to come stay with us until they can get their feet on the ground instead of living out of a hotel.
We approached them, introduced ourselves, and said we had a spare room.
They were immediately enthralled by our idea and couldn't have been more thankful. They came over to the house and all they kept saying was how thankful they were and how we were such blessings, angels to them. They moved most of their things in that Sunday and the rest of it was moved in today.
I like them a lot and I hope this all works out for the best :)
You hear of people having to live that way, but you never expect it to be right around the corner...literally.
